Fire- & Moisture-Protective Nano Coating
HydroFlame-X™ is a high-performance, water-based protective coating engineered to provide integrated fire-protective, moisture-resistant, and thermal barrier functionality within a single application system.
Formulated using a functional polysiloxane binder reinforced with hollow ceramic microspheres and a halogen-free flame-inhibiting additive, HydroFlame-X™ forms a cohesive, durable film designed to:
- Limit flame propagation
- Reduce moisture ingress
- Assist in reducing heat transfer
The cured film exhibits intrinsic hydrophobicity and strong surface water-beading characteristics. HydroFlame-X™ is a ready-to-use, single-component system that is non-flammable in liquid form, low-VOC, and free of halogens and heavy metals.
HydroFlame-X™ functions as a self-priming protective coating when applied to correctly prepared substrates.
HydroFlame-X™

- Fibre cement and drywall
- Concrete and masonry
- Steel (prepared)
- Composite building panels
- Thatch roofing (specialist high-pressure spray application required)
- Roof slabs and structural elements requiring thermal-assist coating
Practical field evaluations have demonstrated the product’s ability to limit flame spread and reduce sustained combustion on treated timber substrates when exposed to direct flame sources.
Observed outcomes under controlled field testing included:- Localised surface charring
- Limitation of flame propagation
- Self-extinguishing behaviour after removal of flame source
Note: These observations are based on practical field evaluation and do not constitute formal fire classification or laboratory certification under SANS, BS, or EN standards. Independent certification testing is pending. Users must conduct application-specific testing appropriate to their risk profile.
- Not intended for continuous immersion or submerged conditions
- Not a fireproofing system
- Direct point-of-flame contact will result in surface charring
- Does not replace certified fire-rated systems unless tested as part of an approved assembly
- Formal fire certification under SANS/BS/EN standards is pending
- Thatch treatment maintenance interval: up to 3 years depending on exposure
- Non-toxic and non-flammable in liquid form
- Free of halogens and heavy metals
- Use gloves and eye protection during application
- Ensure adequate ventilation
- Refer to Safety Data Sheet SDS-HFX-002 for complete safety and disposal information
